What do I Wear? Help!

When a client decides they want to book a session, I’m so stoked! Taking photographs isn’t just about updated photos to me. It should be an experience! Part of that experience is your clothing! I’ll help you pick out, and give recommendations on how to put together a beautiful, corresponding look for your family session, without it screaming Matchy-Match (you know what I mean).

Picking out the correct outfits may be one of the most important details of your session process. You want to pick outfits that photograph beautifully and coordinate, and express personality!

It’s a special occasion! Below are some tips, and store recommendations based on my style for picking out gorgeous looks that coordinate, and photograph well!

Where to Start?

-Think about the season, the location, the vibe you are going for. If it’s a family session start with the mama, and build the other outfits around what she is wearing.

-Think about picking neutral colors for the guys (white, grey, taupe, beige, black, denim, ivory, etc)

-Think about movement! Flowy dresses, skirts, that can be playful in the session and show movement!

**Remember be YOU!** What expresses your personality?!

-Play with layers especially during the fall and winter! (light sweaters, jackets, etc.)

-Try to steer clear of NEON colors that could reflect weird hues on your skin- ( I say this because my husband is obsessed with NEON anything!—SEND HELP! hahaha)

-AVOID BIG LOGOS/ No logos!

-Accessories is another great way to bring in your personal expression (hats, jewelry, scarves, etc.)

Below is a session I did in New Smyrna Beach, Florida… and I was so PUMPED when this family showed up! They nailed there outfits! It’s coordinating but not Matchy-Matchy. Take a LOOK! :)
